Meet the Doctors
Dr. Sidharth Bansal
Dr. Sidharth Bansal is dedicated to providing you and your family with quality dental care for a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles! He places great emphasis on being an honest, gentle, caring dentist who treats his patients, not just their teeth.
Dr. Bansal received his initial degree in Europe over 26 years ago. After moving to the U.S., he earned an additional dental degree from New York University. Dr Bansal then practiced dentistry for five years in Philadelphia and North Carolina before opening his own dental practice in Pittsboro in 2008.
A technology enthusiast, Dr. Bansal believes on keeping up-to-date on the latest advancements in modem dentistry. Advanced training in cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry, as well as certification in invisalign and Lumineers, allows Dr. Bansal to work with patients on a wide variety of dental concerns, forming a partnership in achieving your optimum oral health.
Originally from India, Dr. Bansal is married to Dr. Shipra Patel, a pediatric endocrinologist at UNC. They are proud parents of a young daughter. His outside interests include soccer, field hockey, and martial arts. He also enjoys cooking and gardening. He recently has taken time off to be a part of the National Field Hockey team that traveled to South Africa for the world Championships!
Dr. Min Ko
Dr. Min Ko is originally from South Korea. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill for undergrad and majored in Chemistry. Upon graduation from college, she joined the Peace Corps and served as a volunteer teacher in Namibia for close to two years.
After that, she attended dental school at NYU where she met her husband and has been together since. She graduated in 2017 with honors in Prosthodontics, then she moved to New Hampshire and practiced for two years before moving back to North Carolina to settle permanently. She did not realize how nice it was here in North Carolina until she had left.
Dr. Ko joined Pittsboro Dental as an associate in August 2021 and feels fortunate to have met so many wonderful patients and awesome staff. Her knowledge and desire to help patients has been a wonderful asset to have at the practice.
At home, she has an almost 2 year old son and they love to go to the parks or invite friends over for a meal. She has recently began to bake and now she calls that her “new hobby” if her baby allows her to have one. Luckily, he sleeps well at night. At least this week. Fingers crossed!
Dr. Scott Hardin
Dr. Scott Hardin grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina as the middle of three boys. He studied engineering at North Carolina State University prior to attending dental school at UNC, graduating in 2004. He practiced in Richmond, Virginia until 2006, when he and his wife, Annelise, moved back to Chapel Hill. Dr. Hardin joined Pittsboro Dental as an associate in September 2021.
Dr. Hardin enjoys partnering with his patients to help them achieve the best oral health they can, whether that means educating them about home care and diet, or reconstructing their mouth to give them a new smile. He has studied at the Pankey institute and has been a member of multiple local study clubs.
In his spare time, Dr. Hardin loves spending time with his wife, Annelise Hardin, a pediatric dentist, and his two children, Will and Charlotte. Dr. Hardin enjoys doing anything outdoors, from hiking and mountain biking to surfing and rock climbing. When he’s not outside he enjoys cooking and reading.
Meet the Staff
Paula Lake
Paula joined Dr. Bansal in 2010. She holds a BS in Dental Hygiene from the University of Rhode Island and is a seasoned dental hygiene professional with over 20 years’ experience in General Dentistry and Periodontics.
Over the past 10 years at Pittsboro Dental Associates, Paula has built strong relationships with her patients. Committed to providing exceptional treatment and positive dental experiences; she considers her patients family.
In her free time, Paula enjoys exercising, reading, and most of all spending time with her family.
Allison Martindale
Allison joined Pittsboro Dental in 2021. She graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 2019 with a degree in dental hygiene. Prior to working in General Dentistry she started in Periodontics. She enjoys working with patients to improve their oral health and help maintain long lasting results.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and aussie pup “Blue”, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family. Allison had her first child in March 2022 and is loving it!
Krystle Swain
Krystle originally started working at Pittsboro Dental in January 2015 as a DAII. She continued to work chairside with Dr. Bansal until venturing in 2020 to become a military contracting assistant and ending with the role of Compliance Manager of 14 different locations.
She returned in 2022 to take over the role of Practice Administrator for Pittsboro Dental. With 14 years of experience in dental assisting, and her urge to make the dental experience better for patients, she brings her love of the field and her drive to help others.
In her free time, Krystle enjoys time with her family and friends but is usually on some sporting field somewhere with her son.
Cecilia Newby
Cecilia started working with Pittsboro Dental in 2020 as a dental assistant and helping at the front desk. She graduated from dental assisting school in 2015 and has worked in General Dentistry the majority of that time since.
She enjoys being that listening ear to the patients and helping better their smile at the same time. Gaining her DAII status, she has transitioned to working more on the clerical side of the office. She is a huge asset to the team clinical and clerically.
In her free time, Cecilia loves spending time with her husband and three children. She and her husband enjoy being members of the military and spouses organization Alpha Lambda Psi.
Doris Clapp
Doris started working with Pittsboro Dental in 2021. She has been dental assisting since 1979 and is a Certified Dental Assistant. She has worked in General Dentistry most of that time and is a member of the American Dental Assistant Association.
Her favorite part of dental assisting is working with the patients, and being that helping hand to make their visit a more pleasant experience.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and her two dogs Pierre and Makaio and crafting. She especially loves vacationing in Hawaii, which is her favorite travel destination.
