Do You Have Missing Teeth or Loose-Fitting Dentures?
Here at Pittsboro Dental Associates we can restore your existing implant. Dental implants are the ideal way to replace lost teeth or secure loose-fitting dentures, improving appearance and functionality.
Unlike bridges or removable dentures, which sit on top of the gums, dental implants are placed under the gums. The “tooth” placed on an implant appears life-like, because it comes through the gums just like the original did – it’s like growing a new tooth!
Don’t Grind Away Your Smile!
You may be grinding away your smile and not even realize it. Misaligned teeth resulting in a “bad bite” can contribute to wear on the surface of your teeth, and teeth grinding (bruxism) can even wear through the enamel into the next layer of tooth if left untreated. A bad bite can also put your jaw-to-skull relationship out of alignment causing TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) pain or even chronic headaches.
Early intervention is the key. We can detect signs of wear on your teeth that you may be unaware of. To prevent further wear, crowns may be placed, or we can custom fit a nightguard to prevent teeth grinding and return the jaw to the position nature intended, while you sleep. Emergency Appointments
Tooth emergencies always happen at the most inconvenient time. We strive to get our existing patients in as quickly as possible to evaluate any emergencies or address any pain. For all new patients we will try to accomodate the best we can to triage any urgent issue and put together a plan for treatment.
Preventative Care
Whether on a three, four, or six month recall status with our hygienist, our goal is to work as a team with our patients for maintaining long term oral health. Many issues are easily addressed when caught early. Our annual oral cancer and periodontal screenings aid us in identifying causes for concern. Also it’s a plus to get to see our patients on a regular basis!
